Basel-Strassburg
Left Basel 2 ¼ PM. Arrived Strassburg 9. Got left in morning owing to not knowing there were two stations. Snowing. Visited Münster. Fine & very old cathedral in the early Romanesque style. Quite in love with Trois rois. Arrived in Strassburg with but little detention, trunks all right, comfortable rooms, grateful hearts, put up at the Stadt Paris. In pocket 356 fr.
Fri 1/20/71
Strassburg Nice room. Coffee in room, Z[ina] in bed. C[harles] sick all day but able to crawl about. Saw only cathedral. Did not ascend tower. C[harles] bought a liver pie. In evening Z[ina] read Whewell's Notes on German Churches. Very pleasant. No dinner. Too much pie for luncheon. |
