Logic

Mr. Peirce will give 40 lectures upon general logic, following the contents of his forthcoming book as shown below. At least one lecture will be devoted to each chapter, but the preferences of the class will be consulted in deciding upon the topics of nine of the lectures. The distribution of topics in the chapters is as follows:

Generalities. Chaps. I. II. V. XIII. XVII.    5 chapters
Deductive logic, non-mathematical. Chaps. VI. X. XVI. 3 chapters
"                  ", algebraic. Chaps. VII. VIII. IX. XI. 4 chapters
"                  ", otherwise mathematical. Chaps. XII. XIV. XV. XVIII.             4 chapters
Inductive logic, theory. Chaps. III. IV. XIX to XV. 9 chapters
"                  ", illustrations. Chaps. XXVI to XXI. 6 chapters

Mr. Peirce will give special courses or private lessons upon any branch of the subject in which any graduate member of the University may desire instruction.
