With Nº 57 forward of Nº1 we get (mean 6 comparisons each) at 0o.23 C below 62o F Chaney 57-1=+0.76 divisions Peirce =+0.98 divisions at 0o.85C above 62o F Chaney -4.41 Peirce -4.87 Hence in this position at 62o Chaney -0.34 Peirce -0.27
