My Dear Sir,

I find I have left your letter of October 11 up to the present time without an active answer and I beg to apologize for the omission.

I duly received the amount of your account I billed from Messrs. McCulloch [il.] [il.]

We have not done any pendulum work since you were here. The Arctic Office having been unable to make any observations in the North I do not know the particulars of the cause of their failure. I think probably it might be in some measure due to the office Liut. Rawson who observed there having been compelled to winter in the snow ship away from...
