4 Kirkland Place, Cambridge, Mass. Cambridge, Aug. 25 1880 Prof. J. E. Hilgard Assist. in charge They had no suitable comparator for comparing decimeters in Breteuil. One was shortly expected, but it seemed to me evident that they would be incommoded by having ours to compare at present & I therefore said nothing about it. I am going to New York shortly and I suppose Mr. Chapman will be there. If you were to send on your decimeter we could put it on the comparator and try it. Thank you for your sympathy about Father.
