Abstract /
For students of Journalism in university departments of communication there exists a debate to what the curriculum should be limited too. There are a long list of illustrious personalities from contemporary journalism that make it difficult to easily define the boundaries or limits of study. One of these is José Jiménez Lozano, although he studied to be a lawyer the internationally renowned writer was a journalist by profession. What are the similarities between journalism and literature? Could a writer be a journalist and a journalist a writer? An analysis of his first works in the newspaper El Norte de Castilla, the themes of his writings and how he addresses these themes will help to offer some answers to these questions.
