Abstract /
The writer proposes that this dialectical approach should give way to one based on a consideration of journalism ´s specific narrative character, corresponding to narrative structure of human action. The writer suggests that there are three phenomenon worth further study: 1. the mass media as conveyors of reality; 2. the shaping of those opinions and attitudes which are relevant and influential, particularly in a political sense, in society; 3. scientific research into these opinions.
