Abstract /

Reality shows are, as the term indicates, "shows about reality", and this is the most fascinating side of the media, especially of television. Therefore they do not necessarily have to convey the idea of sensationalism, the violation of intimacy or a lack of respect. Reality is the greatest inspirational source, and within reality, people are what most count. Human interest stories, although showing negative and unpleasant aspects, are an enriching source shedding true insights on life and humanity. Suffering does not have to be offensive, nor be a taboo, nor should it be banned from the media.
