130 high school students from all over the world will meet in the University of Navarra to discuss on “Corruption and development”.

21 schools from 9 countries will take part in the 11th International Forum in which they will show and exhibit their projects to the rest of schools and in front of internationally recognized professionals of the field.

The International Forum of the University of Navarra will welcome students from 21 schools around the world. The Pamplona round will take place on the 17th and 18th of November. 130 students from 9 different countries will discuss, through the presentation of their projects on “Corruption and Development”. Besides, internationally recognized professionals will monitor their work, give conferences on the research fields and grade the projects. The winning team will be receiving 3,000 euros to be used towards a social development project. The competition will be held completely in English and will provide opportunities for students to interact with each other. This will allow a confident environment that will permit reflection on problems of global relevance.

On the occasion of the forum, experts on politics and development will visit the University of Navarra. Mr. Alberto Spektorowsky, professor in the Department of Political Theory and Comparative Politics in Tel Aviv University, will give a lecture on “Corruption in politics”. Also, along with Mr. Esteban Beltrán, expert on Human Rights and Development and director of Amnesty International in Spain, and Anuj Joshua Mathews, expert on Environmental Regulation and R&D (Research and development) will hold a round-table meeting on the Forum’s topic: “Corruption and development”. This way, the student’s presentations will be alternated with the interventions of distinguished professionals on the research fields that will allow the students to give thoughtful consideration to the topic.

24 out of 64 projects were selected to participate in the Forum

The International Forum consists of three parts. It starts with the elaboration of the projects by each team. The essays are sent to the University where 24 are selected from the Pamplona’s round. This year, the University has received a total of 64 projects.  The second phase takes part in the University Campus and consists of a formal presentation of the projects in front of the rest of the schools and a jury. On the final round, the four best-graded projects are presented in front of the invited experts, who will decide the winning Project.

Along with the competition, the students will attend other activities such as the Santa Cecilia concert in the University, a guided tour of the Campus and a visit to the all of the places of significant interest of Pamplona.
