| Online classes: Open Course Ware |
The Open Course Ware (OCW) is a project started by the Massachussets Institute of Technology MIT) in 2001, with the goal of making available free access to the content of the classes offered, with unrestricted access for all users.
Later, other universities from around the world have followed in the footsteps of MIT, making their classes available to the public through the Internet (http://www.ocwconsortium.org/)
A group of Spanish-language universities, coordinated by Universia, have begun a OCW project, with the idea of offering our classes to the public as well as placing educational materials in Spanish on the Internet.
| What do I have to do so that my course can be part of the OCW offered by the University of Navarra? |
If you would like your class to form part of the OCW offering of the University of Navarra, it ought to fulfill a simple set of requirements:
The class webpage should be complete, with the front page, goals, work methodology and complementary materials (lectures, notes, practice guide, sample exams, etc.), bibliography and all other related materials.
The web page should follow the graphic identity of the university. Example of a web page.
Make sure that the materials available for public use follow the norms of intellectual property rights:
Only provide original materials, materials belonging to the University, or materials that we have been given the right to use.
Specify the usage permissions for the material placed online, so that we maintain the rights to the material. The Creative Commonsmakes the management of these rights easier; we follow their guidance with the courses offered by our OCW.
