What is the Association of Friends [ADA]?
The Association of Friends of the University is made up of persons from all walks of life, many of them students, graduates and their family members, who promote and channel the aid necessary for the maintenance and development of the University of Navarra.
- It is an open channel for all of those who wish to contribute so that all those may study at the University who have the necessary aptitudes, but who lack the financial means to pay for a university education.
- Promotes solidarity among many persons who wish to help the University of Navarra in its mission to aid society, conscious that the University, since its beginnings, has been dedicated to maintaining the ideal of service that motivated St. Josemaría Escrivá to found it in 1952.
What needs does it serve?
The Association of Friends of the University handles personal collaboration and financial donations, in order that it may provide scholarships to persons not eligible to participate in public financial aid programs.
Aid to students, so that:
- no student need lose the opportunity to attend the University for economic reasons, and that all those who are performing their studies may complete their degree programs, despite encountering unexpected financial difficulties;
- many young graduates who wish to complete their academic formation may undertake graduate studies at the University, and prepare themselves for work as teachers and scientific researchers;
- students from developing countries may study at the University, who otherwise would not be able to do so due to the costs that are involved.
Aid for maintaining and developing the University, via:
- the promotion of numerous activities directed towards the integral formation of university students, and finance with block grants those extraordinary expenses which have as their purpose the improvement of the University infrastructure.
Aid to research, in order to:
- finance basic and applied research projects that cannot obtain financing via other public or private grant programs, and foment research in all fields of knowledge.
