Care Messrs. Morton, Rose & Co. Bartholomew Lane E. C. London, England Paris June 2, 1883   Prof. J. E. Hilgard Superintendent Dear Sir,      Yours of May 3 acknowledging receipt of package containing results of my pendulum experiments at Allegheny Observatory has been received. If the package did not contain the complete (though hastily written) memoir on the Allegheny, Ebensburg, York, work, some part of it has been lost. Please inform me in regard to the matter.
