[2] A first version was published in
Torralba, J. M., Acción intencional y razonamiento práctico según G.E.M.
Anscombe, Pamplona: Eunsa, 2005, 223-231. The October 2007
version was used in Teichmann, R., The Philosophy of Elizabeth Anscombe,
Oxford: Oxford University Press, 2008, pp. 231-238, including some minor
changes and corrections. We have taken them into account.
[3] The date in CP is “circa 1947”, but the paper was read on February 2nd. 1948 at the Socratic Club and published in 1948. See Torralba, J. M., Acción intencional y razonamiento práctico según G.E.M. Anscombe, Pamplona: Eunsa, 2005, pp. 38-40.
[4] The date in CP is “1957” and there is no date in the original pamphlet. However, according to the facts it must have been published in 1956. The Honorary Degree was conferred on June 20 th. 1956 and the Bodleian stamp of the pamphlet is “11 July 1956”. See Torralba, J. M., Acción intencional y razonamiento práctico según G.E.M. Anscombe, Pamplona: Eunsa, 2005, pp. 58-61.
[5] It
is not entirely a reprint of the 1972a Human World article; it is a
modified version of it.
[6] The interview was
tape-recorded in 1977 and appeared also in a radio programme on the third
Belgian radio BRT-3.
[7] See
1982c.
[8] There
were several comments on Harris’ paper in this issue; naturally, “2” was left
out in the reprint in Human Life, Action and Ethics.
[9] See
1980a. “Analytical Philosophy and the Spirituality of Man” (in Human Life,
Action and Ethics, pp. 3-16) reproduces handwritten corrections and changes
Professor Anscombe made to the previously printed text.
[10] 1985a
and 1985b are quite distinct reviews.
[11] A script for a German radio broadcast of 1956,
in which Anscombe participated (there are two statements by her towards the
end). Introduction to the
text published in Wittgenstein Studies: “Eine Sendung des Westdeutschen
Rundfunks aus dem Jahre 1956 (Übernahme einer Sendung der deutschen Welle der
BBC) - BBC London, Kultur - IV - 17977-56, WDR: DOK 2456/2,
1.8.1956”.
