Founded in 1995, the Multimedia Communication Laboratory (MMLab) is an interdepartmental scientific and applied research centre that focuses on digital comunication. It belongs to the School of Communication of the University of Navarra.
We study, with a theoretical and experimental approach, the impact of digital technology on the public communication media, as well as the emergence of new codes and communication systems.
In its operative dimension, MMLab:
MMLab is composed by teachers, assistants and intern pupils in the last courses of the degrees in Journalism, Audiovisual Communication and Advertising and Public Relations.
The board of MMLab is composed by Ramón Salaverría, PhD (director); José Luis Orihuela, PhD (deputy director), and Charo Sádaba, PhD (deputy director). To learn more on the current members of MMLab, read full profiles or contact them, click here (in Spanish).
MMLab offers two compulsary and three elective courses for graduate students in the School of Communication, along with several postgraduate courses, both home and abroad. You can access the full range of subjects here (in Spanish).
MMLab explores the impact of new technologies on communication. Its researchers focus on digital convergence, blogs, online Journalism in Spain and Brazil. You can read the details of current and past projects and theses here (in Spanish).
In recent years, MMLab members have published or contributed in scientific and divulgative books on cyberjournalism, the blogosphere, new media and digital design.
