Specialized Studies
Certificate Visual Journalism Certificate Program in Corporate Communication Certificate Program in Media Management Certificate Program in Social Communication Certificate Program in Cultural Communication Certificate Program in Political Communication Why are they [A+]? 1. The Certificate Programs are specialized studies. They give the students the opportunity to obtain, in addition to the official degree, a particular accreditation in a field of specialization, which will facilitate their access to professional world. 2. The specialization does not require the achievement of more subjects than those previewed in the study plan, neither does the registration in additional seminars or complementary activities. 3. The minimum credits required to obtain the Certificate Program of specialized studies is 45. The total amount of credits that the student must complete with optional subjects and elective subjects are 62 in Film, Television and Digital Media Degree. 4. Each Certificate Program presents two categories of subjects: -Basic subjects: those that are mandatory in order to complete to obtain the Certificate diploma; -Complementary subjects: those subjects related to the field of specialization, of which the students must complete a minimum amount of credits. Both categories may be found among optional subjects (from the School of Communication offer) and elective subjects (from the whole University offer). 5. This system does not require any pre-registration. In addition, it does not involve any obligation on the part of the School of Communication, nor a right to demand it on the part of the students. This way, when students have successfully finished their studies and they achieve them according to the requirements, besides the official certificate of University degree, they will be awarded with the corresponding Specialized Studies Diploma. 6. The registration system does not change either: there are not any special quotas for those who want to achieve certain specializations, because, in fact there won’t be any official records of people following each Certificate Program.Such official record will be just created at the time the student has completed the required credits. On the other hand, it should not be forgotten that a student may start a Certificate Program and give it up later; or even reorient the selection of subjects in order to achieve a different one. 7. The Certificate Program offer may only change in the complementary subjects availability. In order to obtain the corresponding Diploma at the end of the studies, it will apply the offer of any of the years during which the student was at the University. |
