| The
International Conference on Communication was
born in 1986 as a meeting point between practioners,
students and researchers. The goal was to encourage
quality in journalistic practices sharing international
experiences and to foster academic dialogue
on the impact of communication.
This yearly summit is
organised by the School of Communication of
the Univerisyt of Navarra. After 18 uninterrumpted
years it has become the leading discussion forum
on the academic spanish world. It is also the
oldest conference of its kind in Spain. The
working system in the Conference combines keynote
speeches, papers delivered in groups of experts
in specific topics, and open discussion withh
the participants.
The Conference has had in its history an average
participation of about 400 professors, journalists
and undergraduate and graduate students coming
from 40 universities worldwide. After seventeen
meetings, the Conference is looking to the future
having in mind the need to help in the development
of excellent communication education for the
Third Milennium.
