Polish Director and producer of cinema,
begins its career in the 50s, in the Amateur Cinema Club
of the University of Warsaw. In 1966 he directs his first
film, “The death of a provincial”, who obtained
the Silver Lion in the International Festival of Cinema
of Venice. Since then, it initiates a creative work like
producer, scriptwriter and director who is reflected in
almost fifty titles. It has received a great number of
awards in the most prestigious international festivals,
as a Golden Lion in Venice (1984), the Best Director Award
in the Festival of Cannes (1980) and the Special Prize
of the Jury of Venice (1982). His productions have been
also recognized in cinematographic forums like Montreal,
Berlin and Moscow.
