2002 • Medios para la Paz (The Media for Peace)

Due to the insurgent guerrilla groups, the situation in Colombia is extremely complex and media professionals are under constant threat.  “Medios para la paz” was founded in the decade of the 1990’s by a group of young journalists.  Their objective is to prevent news and information concerning the conflict from inadvertently turning professionals into participants. Their role is to insure that information represents a positive factor for the reconstruction of the country on the basis of human rights, peace, and democracy. At present this organization is made up of more than 70 jounalists of recognized prestige.
