The Chinese government has decided to present Pedro Nueno, Professor at IESE, with the "China Friendship Award;" the most important award that China gives to a foreigner, and this is the first time that a Spaniard has received it.
The award will be presented to Nueno by the Chinese President, Hu Jintao, in Beijing during the celebration of National Day (October 1st), which will be especially important this year given that it is the 60th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China. Nueno has been invited to join the leaders of the Chinese government before the famous celebration of National Day in the Great Hall of the People.
Pedro Nueno has been a Professor at IESE since 1968. He is the holder of the Bertrán Foundation Chair of Entrepreneurship, and is the Chairman of the Academic Board and co-founder of the China-Europe International Business School, which was the first international business school in Asia, with campuses in Shanghai and Beijing. The China-Europe International Business School (CEIBS) collaborates closely with the IESE, Harvard and Wharton, offering various joint programs with them.
With this award, the Chinese Government wishes to acknowledge not only the work of Pedro Nueno and the whole international team at CEIBS, but also the excellent benefits that China receives from the formation of business executives with a global outlook.
