The School of Sciences of the University of Navarra has created eight new specializations for next year
Designed for students of Biology, Chemistry or Biochemistry, there will be specializations in the environmental, clinical and research branches, and they will be taught in Spanish and English

The Diploma in Environmental Biology will introduce students to the procedures for determining environmental impact, the diagnosis of pollution and its prevention.

The Diploma in Environmental Biology will study plant and animal diversity and their interaction with the environment, introducing students to the evaluation procedures of environmental impact, as well as pollution diagnosis and prevention. The Diploma in Clinical Biology focuses on biological analysis in relation to health, in addition to forming students with the skills necessary for clinical analysis in the laboratory. The Diploma in Environmental Chemistry will teach students about the processes of environmental degradation and recuperation. The Diploma in Medical Chemistry will prepare students for the world of pharmaceutical drugs and research in the chemical/pharmaceutical industry. These four specializations will be taught in Spanish.
The following specializations will be taught in English, and are designed to support research oriented vocations in Biology, Chemistry, and Biochemistry and Biomedicine: Research Training Program in Biology, Research Training Program in Chemistry and Research Training Program in Biochemistry and Biomedicine. This last program will be carried out in collaboration with the Center for Applied Medical Research (CIMA).
Diploma in Marine Biology at the University of Tromso
Lastly, the Diploma in Marine Biology will be studied entirely at the University of Tromso (Norway), thanks to the Erasmus exchange program. Designed for Biology students and taught entirely in English, this specialization will study the lifecycles of fish and their physiological and anatomical adaptations to different aquatic habitats, as well as the following topics: production of young fish, genetics, diet, fish nutrition and health.
The research areas with the most prestige and experience (namely environmental, biomedical, and bio-health research) were important factors for the School of Sciences in designing these eight specializations. A practical formation, multidisciplinary scientific research and internationalization (thanks to agreements with other institutions throughout the world) were also taken into account as primary characteristics when designing the specializations. Lastly, the specializations are meant to respond to the high demand in the market in certain areas of biology such as environmental Biology and clinical Biology, which provides an additional professional value to the programs.
