- Telephones
The University of Navarra's central telephone switchboard, located in the Central Building, handles the routing and attending of calls received from outside the campus. The switchboard handles all calls made to 948 42 56 00, routing the callers to the appropriate Centers (Faculties, Schools, Institutes, Departments, Offices, etc.).
The university switchboard is digital, connecting to external telephone providers via digital channels. An operator is present to attend callers during the University's normal business hours, as well as during those holidays when the University maintains a partial schedule (such as during San Fermines). Five receptionists make up the switchboard operator team, who rotate work schedules in order to maintain a maximum number of operators during peak call traffic hours. In addition, the various Centers and Schools also maintain direct lines accessible to outside callers, without passing through the switchboard first.
Relations with external telephone providers are handled by the Director of the Construction and Physical Plant Service, Mr. Rafael Callejo Gimeno, who is also responsible for the supervision and control of call traffic and billing. In carrying out these tasks, the Construction and Physical Plant Service receives the assistance of the Maintenance Service; all work orders for resolution of problems with telephones or telephone lines should be passed directly to the latter service, as well as any requests for assistance with the switchboard or for borrowing telephone equipment.
Requests for new telephone extensions for any Center, Department or Office are normally directed to the Director of the Construction and Physical Plant Service.
