- Security
The Campus Security Service supervises the work of the security guards and doormen, and is in charge of maintaining security in campus buildings and installations, both when open to the public, as well as when closed. The Director of the Security Service is Mr. Carlos Fernández; Mr. Antonio Gallego is the head of the team of doormen, who collaborates closely with the Chief of Security. The primary responsibilities of the Security Service are as follows:
- Organization and supervision of the daily work of the doormen and security guards.
- Development of studies and estimates concerning the adoption of general measures for security and protection.
- Continuous supervision of the campus alarm system.
- Supervision of the card-activated access control system for campus buildings.
- Control and coordination of those security services contracted out to external agencies.
- Normal relations with the various governmental security forces.
- Collaborating with the Maintenance Service via the submission of work orders for any maintenance problems observed.
- Application of postage to, and distribution of, external mail (including the supervision of contracted external agencies).
- Distribution of internal campus mail.
ISSUES WITH THE CAMPUS IDENTIFICATION CARD. Any difficulties or other issues related to the campus identification card —obtaining the card, reporting a loss, or damaged cards— are handled by the corresponding Office. In the case of employees, this will be the Human Resources Office of the University, of the University Hospital, Research Commission or the ICT. Students must visit the Registrar's Office for all issues related to their identification card.
