The University Security Service is in charge of the reception and distribution of the correspondence received or sent by the various Centers, Departments or Services. Each building has a mail room with individual mailboxes, typically located next to the main reception desk, where mail can be collected.

Outgoing mail should be given directly to the doormen at the building reception desk. The doormen can also provide information about optimizing shipping costs, and have carts and dollies for transporting large or heavy packages. The team leaders, Mr. Jesús María Amatria and Mr. Antonio Gállego, are available to respond to any query about mail services; they can be reached at ext. 2248, or by sending them an email.

Outgoing Mail. The application of postage to outgoing mail has been contracted out to a specialized firm, which also handles mail pickup from the University and transport of the mail to the state Post Offices. Correspondence collected during the morning will be delivered to the Post Office the same day, while mail collected in the afternoon will be delivered the following business day. A mail pickup is made at the beginning of each business day at the Post Office, and this mail is delivered to its recipients as soon as it has been sorted.

Internal Mail. Collection and delivery of internal mail takes place during the morning and evening in the various campus buildings. Internal mail pickup and delivery generally occurs every four hours.

Express Mail. Urgent messages are delivered via a messenger service. In order to assure timely delivery within 24 hours, urgent items should be dropped off at a building reception desk no later than 4pm (for packages with destinations within Spain).
