OBJECTIVESThe objectives of the course will be to train students in the most relevant economic and management aspects of Development Cooperation, to familiarize them with the main national and multilateral institutions that finance cooperation projects, to train them in their complex structures of decision-making and project management and to develop a capacity for practical analysis and critical reasoning on development issues.
We intend to strengthen the competencies of each student as an executive professional, working for financing institutions of development, for consulting companies, or non governmental organizations which manage cooperation projects. These skills include not only the analytical and critical knowledge necessary to understand the key issues relative to development but the fundamental capacities enhancing decision-making and action.
In the course, people will be the "fundamental elements", as they are the final beneficiaries of country/regional development and we believe that participants and managers of funds and projects assisting developing countries are the key factors for successful implementation.
Consequently this course is conceived as an exchange opportunity for real experiences, putting together students of UNAV with directors of beneficiary institutions and multilateral donors (European Union and World Bank), as well as executives of leading companies in consultancy and NGOs, executive managers of the main instruments of cooperation towards Development.
