María Seguí Gómez, appointed General Director of Public Health, Drug Dependency and Consumption for the Government of Castilla-La Mancha

Pamplona, 25th July, 2011.-

Dr. María Seguí, has been appointed as the General Director of Public Health, Drug Dependency and Consumption for the Health and Social Affairs Department in the recently constituted Government of Castilla La Mancha.

Nominated by the Autonomous Minister of Health and Social Affairs, José Ignacio Echániz, this appointment has been endorsed by the President of the Community, María Dolores de Cospedal, after deliberation by the Government Cabinet meeting on July 21.

This role includes,among many others, the following activities:

  • the development and evaluation of health prevention and promotion programs;

  • the development and monitoring of health surveillance information systems;

  • the participation in international health policy programs; and

  • the collaboration in research and training programs regarding public health
