Imparted in collaboration with the IESE Business School, the Diploma in Economic Law is intended to complement the legal formation of our students via knowledge of accounting, analysis of business situations, human resource management, finance, etc. It is compatible with the IBLP.
Attorneys, judges, legal consultants, bankers, notaries and official registrars, and many other legal professionals need solid knowledge of business and economics, accounting, finance and human resources.
For those students who wish to orient their future career towards those professions which require, in addition to a legal education, this additional base of auxiliary knowledge of economics and business, the School of Law, with the advising and collaboration of the IESE Business School, offers licentiate students in Law the possibility to also obtain the Diploma in Economic Law.
An important characteristic of our University-accredited diploma program is that the open elective courses which are specific to the Diploma are imparted by professors of the IESE.
The DECO is open to students who are taking the licentiate degree in Law. It does not require taking additional credits, since the required courses for the Diploma can substitute for the elective credits which are available to all students studying for a licentiate in Law. The Diploma allows you to take advantage of the 32 credits of open elective courses and 24 of in-program electives in order to fulfill the Diploma requirements.
The Diploma in Economic Law is compatible with the IBLP; however, in order to take both programs, the student will need to take 24 credits more than those required by the licentiate degree in Law.
