About The School

The School of Science of the University of Navarra was founded in 1959, and is the third oldest school in Spain which trains professionals in Biology.

* Interdisciplinary Instruction

Since it was founded, the School of Science has provided high-quality, interdisciplinary instruction in both professional and human areas. By virtue of its interdisciplinary nature, it maintains close relations with the Schools of Medicine and Pharmacy of the University of Navarra, as well as with the University Hospital

* International Relations

The School of Science maintains an exchange program for students and professors of Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry and Human Nutrition and Dietetics, with many European universities through the SOCRATES program of the European Union.

* Practical Instruction

Our students have an interest in understanding life, with capacities of observation, analysis, synthesis and teamwork.
For this reason, approximately 50% of undergraduate credits correspond to work performed by students in laboratories, seminars or field work.

* Internships

The School of Science, in collaboration with the University Business Foundation, maintains close relations with industry. The programs of study allow students to obtain academic credit (as electives) for performance of internships with businesses. During the past academic year the School of Science maintained more than 100 internship agreements with various businesses in the areas of food service, environmental management, clinical analysis laboratories, oenology, microbiology and genetics, forestry, treatment of wastewater and industrial waste, elimination of plagues, aquaculture, marine museums, natural parks, dairies, meat producers, jam manufacturers, chemical laboratories, hospitals, restoration businesses, etc.....

* Academic Advising

As part of their teaching activity, instructors dedicate a fixed time each week to advise students and provide academic orientation. The ratio of one professor for each six students make this personal attention possible.
