Chemistry studies the structure, properties and transformations of matter, and its applications. It is a hands-on area of study, in which 40% of the credits are in laboratory or other practical classes. The plan of studies is comprised of four academic years divided into two cycles of two years each. In the first cycle, students acquire basic knowledge in all the areas of Chemistry and related areas, and in the second cycle classes are oriented towards the acquisition of a more defined professional formation in a specific area of Chemistry, either in fundamental Chemistry (Inorganic, Organic, Analytic and Chemical Physics) or applied Chemistry (Environmental and Agricultural Chemistry, Clinical Chemistry, Material Science, etc.).
