The School of Sciences of the University of Navarra, aware of the fact that properly addressing environmental concerns in this day and age requires a multi-discipline approach, has inaugurated the new Diploma in Environmental Chemistry (DQa), a pioneer program in Spain that completes the formation of those who work in the field of chemistry with classes on environmental biology.
The Diploma in Environmental Chemistry will enable a student with a B.S. in Chemistry to study and analyze how chemical substances can affect the environment; to develop systems to eliminate pollution and decontaminate polluted areas; to design new chemical compounds that are more compatible with the environment; to propose new technologies for the treatment of waste liquids; to manage the water treatment and purification systems; to contribute to studies evaluating environmental impact; to evaluate the effects of the introduction of pollutants in the environment; and to identify the sources of contamination.
