The "St. Josemaría Escrivá Historical Institute" (ISJE), was inaugurated by the Prelate of Opus Dei on January 9, 2001. This center for scientific research promotes historical, theological, and canon law studies on St. Josemaría and his message, as well as on the history of Opus Dei.

 

The ISJE's principal objectives include:

 

Camino - the publication of critical editions of the complete works of St. Josemaría. Editions in print: Camino. Edited by Pedro Rodriguez, Madrid, Rialp, 2002. Editions in progress: Holy Rosary, Conversations with Msgr. Escrivá, and Christ is Passing By.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Revistas y monografías

 

 

- the publication of a specialized journal. The first volume of Studia et Documenta. Rivista dell'Istituto Storico San Josemaría Escrivá was published in January 2007. This annual journal gathers the work of the researchers of the Institute and other scholars interested in the life and work of St. Josemaría, as well as on the history and spirit of Opus Dei. The book series has published the following volumes:

 

* Herrando Prat de la Riba, Ramón, Los años de seminario de Josemaría Escrivá en Zaragoza (1920-1925). El seminario de S. Francisco de Paula, Madrid, Rialp, 2002, 1ª, 451 pp.

- Organize conferences, seminars, meetings and colloquia.

 

- To create, organize and maintain technical structures (bibliographies, guides for archival sources, documentation archives) at the service of scholarly research.
