The work carried out in CIFA is by means of projects. The initiative behind each work project is that of the Universidad de Navarra or of national or international companies, in the field of R&D&I of novel drugs. The work carried out at CIFA is coordinated with different departments of the diverse faculties and centers within the Universidad de Navarra in terms of the proposed research.
The Instituto Científico y Tecnológico de Navarra (ICT) –Office of the Transfer of Research Results (OTRI) of the UN- studies the different topics associated with the proposals and development of the contracts of R&D&I and handles the corresponding economical aspects.
CIFA facilities include the R&D in Novel Drugs Unit, Instrumental Techniques, Toxicology, Food Microbiology, Metabolic Research, Brain Tumor Biology Unit, etc. The Experimental Animal Breeding and Housing Unit, Experimental Surgery and the Quality Assurance Unit can also be found within the different installations of CIFA. The latter units offer their services to CIFA as well as to the Clínica Universidad de Navarra, CIMA and the Faculties of Science, Medicine and Pharmacy.
Compliance to Good Laboratory Practices is met for the work carried out at CIFA when the projects include this requirement.
