The Institute of Physics accomplishes those activities of the Department of Physics and Applied Mathematics which are a complement to those fields which in turn are not directly related to University teaching.
Concerning the statute, the Institute depends on the Reseach Vice President of the University of Navarra and shares its location with the Department. Its governing Board is formed by a Director, an Associate Director and an Assistant Director for Administration.
Its functions consist on carrying out pure and applied projects and research, collaborating with other Spanish and international groups and institutions, promoting meetings and national and international events, and also connecting with industries and other similar activities. In general, it is understood that the purpose of the Institute of Physics is to develop indirect activities which could improve research in physics contributing to the spreading of its results.
