The Office of European and International Programs of the University of Navarra was created on the initiative of the Office of the Vice President of Research in order to foster the participation of the University's research groups in international programs - especially the 7th Framework Program of the European Union.
The OIP has as its objective the offering of information and advising to research groups of the University of Navarra, especially concerning those aspects related with participation in European R&D projects, under two major aspects:
- Promotion and Dynamization of participation
- Management and Tracking
At the University of Navarra, both basic and applied research is undertaken in distinct fields of the areas of Humanities, Social Sciences, Experimental Sciences and Medical Sciences. Since its foundation in 1952, the scientific production of the University has experienced a continual increase, positioning it as a center of reference at the national and international level. Particularly in recent years, the University's research activity has taken on a greater international dimension, appearing frequently in CORDIS.
The University of Navarra takes part in, and has taken part in, multiple research projects at the European level, participating actively in the 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th Framework Programs. In addition, it has obtained financing from other international programs.
All of the scientific activity of the University of Navarra is developed through interdisciplinary research groups.
