Presentation

In the affective-sexual education parents should act as a primary source. They provide a structure of values, their example of life and messages that young people need to know. The parents' attitude towards sexuality education influences the decisions of their children, and it is essential to promote their educational role. On the other hand, the affective-sexual education received at school plays an important role because this is the place where we learn a great deal about our own behavior and where society transmits the culture, knowledge and values by which behavior is regulated.

At the same time, it is necessary to affect the construction of a socio-cultural context that enhances, in young, healthy leisure opportunities and strengthen those social skills in young people that will enable them to resist pressure and take free and well-founded decisions. The objective of this research project is to promote, from adolescence and early youth, the acquisition of healthier sexual lifestyles through the proper education of the emotions and sexuality.
This “sexual health” education is understand as an “integration of the somatic, emotional, intellectual and social elements of the sexual being by means that are positively enriching and which strengthen personality, communication and love” (WHO,1974).

The project involves multidisciplinary courses of action for parents, schools and youth and social environment.
