Opus Dei is a personal Prelature of the Catholic Church. It was founded in Madrid on October 2, 1928, by St. Josemaría Escrivá. Its headquarters and Prelatic Church are in Rome. At present, more than 80,000 perople from all over the world are members of the Prelature.
