Photocopying and Printing

Introduction

For the purposes of teaching and research, the Library offers users a reproduction service for Library items, either through photocopies, print, scanning or digitalization, depending on the nature of the document and in accordance with existing legislation.

What can be reproduced?
What cannot be reproduced?

In all cases (self-service photocopying machines, scanner and microform readers/players) the responsibility for complying with legislation rests with the user making the copies.

The reproduction of book pages and periodical articles may be done on the self-service photocopiers, subject to current legislation on State Intellectual Property: Royal Legislative Decree 1/1996, of April 12, (BOE No. 97, 04/22/1996) by which the text of the Intellectual Property Law, regularizing, clarifying and harmonizing the established legislation on the matter is approved.

 

Documents for sale or for public use.

Doctoral Theses  and unpublished works deposited in the Library services ( in these cases the approval of the author is required)

Interlibrary Loan books.

Works prodeced prior to the year 1900.

Items with special characteristics: unique items, rare and valuable editions, items which because of their physical codition (fragility, weight, size) could deteriorate with handling.

Whole books, regardless of publication date.

Photocopying machines are self-service and work with OCÉ magnetic cards which can be purchased or topped up at any photocopy store in the University. The price of each photocopy in DIN A4 is 0.04 euros.

The photocopiers located in the Library make reproductions in A4 format and in black and white. It is also possible to make reductions and enlargements.

Humanities Library: Humanities Researchers Room (Ground Floor, 2nd, 3rd and 4th floor) / Undergraduates Room / Newspaper Room (Basement)
Ecclesiastical Studies Library - Faculty Reception
University Hospital Library - (8th floor)
In addition to photocopying, some can print documents sent from computers in the different libraries:
 Print from the Science Library
 Print from the Humanities Undergraduates Room
 Print from the Humanities Researchers Room
 Print from the Newspaper Room
 Print from the Reference Room

In case of paper-jams, lack of paper, toner, etc., please inform OCÉ (by going to the basement of the Old Library building in Humanities or by calling extension 3121), indicating the location of the photocopier and the type of problem (see the message that appears on the screen).
