As a general rule, requests for interlibrary loans should be limited to books which cannot be otherwise purchased through normal commercial outlets and to periodical articles from journals the Library does not own. |
Documents requested through this service should be used only for personal, teaching, or research purposes. The means and use of reproductions are subject to current intellectual property laws. |
Original documents loaned from other libraries should not be removed from the Library of the University of Navarra, and the loan period indicated by each library should be observed. In the case that more time is needed, please request an extension from the Interlibrary Loan Service. The Service of the Library reserves the right to refuse to process new requests to users who fail to observe these rules. |
The receipt of documents by fax will be done solely in cases of urgency.

Many libraries have special items that are not available for loan. It may be possible to obtain reproductions of such items by photocopy, microfilm, or CD-ROM, depending on the item. In most libraries, this special designation applies to:
- Items from before 1901 in most libraries, and items from before 1958 in the Biblioteca National (National Library), libraries of the CSIC, and in the univerisities of Carlos III and Santiago de Compostela.
- Reference works (encyclopedias, dictionaries, catalogs, bibliographies, and other related items).
- Serial publications (magazines, journals, serials, and other related items).
- Highly-used items of which the library owns only one copy.
- Loose-leaf pages and cartographic materials.
- Non-print materials (slides, films, drawings, engravings, and other related items).
- Other items which, at the discretion of the library, should be specially preserved
