If the room is not going to be used, the reservation should be cancelled so that it becomes available for use by others.
Room reservation is automatically cancelled if the user has not arrived after 15 minutes; the user may be penalised, and the room is immediately made available to others.
The person who made the reservation is responsible for the correct use of the room; if anything is out of order, Library staff should be advised before the room is used.
This service is subject to the general rules and regulations of the Library:
· The rooms are work areas – noise levels should be at a minimum so as not to disturb other users.
· Smoking is prohibited; likewise, the consumption of food or drink.
· Use of the Group Study Rooms must be related to academic activities (learning, research, etc.)
The Library reserves the right to cancel reservations and penalise users who fail to make efficient and responsible use of rooms or equipment.
The following are grounds for such penalisation:
· Failure to use the reserved room; leaving the room (for a period of more than 15 minutes) without removing study materials, etc.
· Room reservation for only 1 person.
· Causing any damage to the room.
· Failure to respect Library staff.
· Failure to follow guidelines issued by Library staff with regard to:
- The number of people using the room.
- Unacceptable noise levels in a library work area.
The initial penalisation will be a withdrawal of the right to reserve rooms for a period of 3 months, which may be extended to 1 year. In case of damage to the rooms, the person who made the reservation will be charged the cost of repairs.
External users may have access to the room if it is free at the time of asking, but they may not make advance reservations.
